Twenty-two: A String Of Moons

Mirror, mirror, mercury
silver, I see a string of
moons making their way
across the sea of the sky.

A dozen reflections, shadows
of pearls, each one paler
than the last, as if,
like a lullaby,
the moon is fading into itself.
