Two: Content

The sunshine was spilling in, smiling so hard it woke me up. I made coffee
and wandered down to the petrol green beach where the surfer dudes,
a dime a dozen, were rushing into the golden horizon.
Shops shut, no smokes, so I sucked on a cigar and
crossed my legs, watching them slithering like
leeches over the water. I was nowhere but now.

Jesus, it’s hard not to want to live today.
